Today is is my first day on a 8 day detox programme. I’ve never done a detox before, I’ve got friends that rave about the benefits and we all know how much Gwyneth Paltrow loves a detox. The reason I’ve decided to do a detox is I’m going to a wedding in 3 weeks and I want to look and feel my best.
So the rules of the detox I’m on are as follows:
No: Red meat, caffeine, dairy, sugar, sweetener, bread, grain, cereal, legumes, alcohol and processed foods.
Day 1 consists of a green juice (spinach, kale, celery, cucumber, lemon and apple) for breakfast, lunch and dinner and heaps of water.
The following 7 days have various juices for breakfast, then a smoothie for lunch and a clean dinner.
So far I’ve had the first juice, I have to admit I did not like the taste. But once I’m through today it’s going to be much easier. Tomorrow’s juice looks yummy it’s called the ginger ninja.
My plan to get through today is keep busy and away from food temptations as much as possible. The pressure points are making the kids lunches and dinner.
